Dr. Andrea Lindell, PhD serves as Senior Advisory Consultant to our firm on health sciences assignments providing insight, national relationships, and additional vetting of the pool of candidates on behalf of client institution committees.
Andrea Lindell received her PhD in Nursing, MSN at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and BSN at Villa Maria College, Erie, PA.
She most recently serves as Dean of the School of Nursing at Walden University since March, 2013. As chief academic administrator for the School of Nursing, Dr. Lindell has leadership responsibility for all the academic programs and resources; Doctoral-DNP and PhD, Master in Nursing with six specialty tracks and Undergraduate BSN with three track option- RN-BSN, RN-MSN and RN-BSN-MSN.
From 2011-2013 Dr. Lindell served as the Walden University, School of Nursing, DNP Program Director to complete the program of study with implementation for new DNP program. She also designed the curriculum and wrote the approved proposal for the newly implemented PhD nursing program.
Prior, Dr. Lindell served as Dean and Professor of the College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati from 1990 until 2011. She also held the position of Assoc. Sr. Vice President for Academic Health Affairs in the Medical Center. In the role of Dean of the College, she supervised multiple on-campus and off-campus academic programs ranging from traditional/non-traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN-MSN Pathway, MSN with 13 specialties, PhD and DNP. Programs were offered on-site while MSN and DNP programs offered hybrid options of distance on-line learning venues. Dr. Lindell also developed and supervised international collaborative academic programs partnerships with Yonsei University, Seoul Korea, Seoul National University, Pam American University, Mexico City, Mexico, Kyoto Hospital, Kyoto, Japan, and others.
Dr. Lindell held national leaderships positions as Treasurer then President of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), University Representative and Treasurer on the Council on Accreditation of Anesthesia Educational Programs, Midwest Alliance in Nursing (MAIN) and is the current Vice-Chair, Board of Trustees, Denver School of Nursing and member of the Minnesota Association Council of Nursing (MACN). She served on numerous board and committee positions at the local, state, and national levels. She held director positions on two corporate boards and Chair of the Omnicare Foundation. Currently holds director position on one corporate board. Dr. Lindell has authored numerous publications in refereed journals, book chapters, served as a journal reviewer, has given presentations nationally and internationally.
Dr. Lindell has served in roles as accreditation on-site reviewer for the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (Board of Review as member/Chair and on-site reviewer) and board member for accreditation on the National Council of Nurse Anesthesia (COA). She also served as lead reviewer and consultant on the King Hussein Excellence in Education project for the assessment and evaluation of all nursing programs in Jordan.
She is a national/international consultant in areas of program development, curriculum design and implementation, program evaluation strategies, program readiness for accreditation self-review, document preparation, and “mock on-site review” preparation. Dr. Lindell has received awards for Outstanding Leadership in Nursing, Outstanding Alumni, and the AACN National Sr. Armiger Award for Outstanding Leadership in Nursing Education (2010).
