The background and experience of the successful Chief Human Resources Officer - a worldwide comparison 

Chief Human Resource Officers (CHRO) are serving in critical roles and can be instrumental in helping to shape the current and future growth of their companies.   IIC Partners Human Resources Practice Group members recently engaged a number of global human resource leaders in candid conversations about the CHRO role and what it takes to be successful. We believe the insights are helpful and provide an interesting perspective on the challenging life of the modern-day CHRO.  

A series of interviews were conducted with HR leaders from across the world in order to compile this document.  The same three questions were asked of all participants:

·      What key experiences do you possess that have been instrumental in allowing you to be successful in the CHRO role?

·      What are the current significant challenges you face as CHRO which keep you up at night?

·      What experiences/traits will be critical for a CHRO to possess to meet future business needs?
