Harris Search Associates has recruited Dr. Guoyang Luo as Department Chair Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) at the Howard University College of Medicine.
Dr. Luo is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with subspecialty training and certification in maternal-fetal medicine. Prior to becoming the director of the UConn School of Medicine Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division, he was the director of the Center for Perinatal Medicine and interim Maternal-Fetal Medicine Section chief at Danbury Hospital. He was also a clinical associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at University of Vermont School of Medicine.
Dr. Luo graduated with honors from Hunan Medical University in China and received his Ph.D. in immunology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Subsequently, he completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital at Weill-Cornell Medical College, and a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Yale University. Dr. Luo is board certified in both general obstetrics-gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. He holds a number of international positions including adjunct professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital, Shenzhen, China, as well as visiting professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China, and Shan Dong University in Jinan, China. He also serves as an international expert of the Chinese Ultrasound Doctors Association.
Dr. Luo’s clinical interests include managing high-risk pregnancy and prenatal diagnosis. He is skilled in performing chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, multiple fetal reduction, and fetal echocardiography.
