Harris Search Associates once again to host “Think Tank” on Women of Color in Academic Engineering and Present the Harriet Tubman Award for Advancing Women of Color in Academic Engineering.
Inspired by the courage of Harriet Tubman – “Don’t ever stop. Keep going.” – and the achievements of African-American and other women of color professors of engineering, Harris Search Associates is honored once again to host a “Think Tank” to continue efforts to improve opportunities, access, and promote advancement for women of color in the engineering academy and to sponsor the Tubman Award for Advancing Women of Color in Academic Engineering.
A copy of the invitation is enclosed for review.
Held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), both the Think Tank and the award presentation will take place in the Deer Valley meeting room of the Marriott City Center, 220 South State Street, Salt Lake City on Sunday evening, June 24, 7:00-9:00 pm.
This year we will be honoring Dr. Stephanie Adams, Dean of Engineering & Technology at Old Dominion University as the recipient of the 2018 Harriet Tubman Award Award for the Advancement of Women of Color in Academic Engineering. Join us in congratulating Stephanie on her success and efforts to advance the academic engineering profession.
At the Think Tank we will also provide an update on the findings from last year's meeting, our activities since then, and the proposal to NSF.
Upon conclusion of the meeting, we hope you will stay dessert, wine, and coffee along with an opportunity for continued discussion.
