Michael (Mike) Pizarek joined Harris Search Associates in 2020 and serves as Senior Advisory Consultant/Research Associate. He has broad-based knowledge of higher education having served with another executive search firm and a leading state university system.
As Senior Advisory Consultant/Research Associate, Mike works with the firm’s leadership to identify and recruit candidates for our clients’ consideration. His responsibilities include designing retained executive search project recruitment strategy, researching and sourcing potential candidates, supporting candidate recruitment efforts, market and competitive research, managing interview logistics and proprietary database management.
Prior to joining Harris Search Associates, Mike was a Research Associate for Parker Executive Search – a boutique higher education executive search consulting firm based in Atlanta, GA. At Parker Executive Search, Mike was part of the firm’s higher education practice and supported the full-scale search process and the successful placement of candidates into key campus leadership positions (e.g., presidents, provosts, vice presidents, deans, department chairs). His higher education career began at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG), where Mike was a Research Associate tasked with analyzing and synthesizing research on higher education trends and innovations into usable information for USG leadership at a 26-institution university system with 300K+ enrolled students.
Mike holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Georgia. Prior to the MPA Program, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Mike enjoys studying history, traveling, running, college football and volunteering with Cristo Rey Atlanta. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and is member of Christ the King Cathedral and Atlanta Track Club.
